What's Hot:
OSHA & MSHA Training Grants
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced more than $6.8 million in Susan Harwood Training Grants, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) recently announced $8.3 million in health and safety grants. According to Secretary Solis, "A good job is a safe job, and these grants are providing the training that workers and employers need to identify and correct workplace safety and health hazards."
Plan Your Drug-Free Workplace Week Events
Drug-Free Work Week (October 19-25, 2009) reinforces the importance of improving worker safety and health through drug-free workplace programs. These programs help protect employers and employees alike from the potentially devastating consequences of alcohol or drug abuse. Establishing policies, educating about the dangers of alcohol and drug use, deterring and detecting use, and urging people to seek help for alcohol and drug problems are not only smart safety strategies, they're also smart business strategies.
Working Partners for an Alcohol- and Drug-Free Workplace, a DOL initiative, provides numerous planning resources for employers, employees, unions, associations, community coalitions, and neighborhood organizations online at www.dol.gov/workingpartners.
