Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis' statement on March employment numbers

"President Obama has articulated a clear mission to get American families through these challenging times and bring prosperity back to our nation," said Secretary Solis. "The U.S. Department of Labor';s work is central to those goals. By swiftly implementing portions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, we are assisting workers who have lost jobs, providing training opportunities for workers to upgrade their skills and identifying opportunities in emerging sectors such as green jobs and health information technology. By using all of the department's resources, we are taking steps to ensure that workplaces are fair, safe and healthful."
