The first volume in the By the Sweat & Toil of Children series, this report explores the use of child labor in manufactured and mined products which are imported by the United States.

The report gives an overview of some industries in which children work, their conditions of employment, factors which contribute to the use of child labor, government and non-government responses to the child labor problem, and the current debate as to which strategies will best address the dilemma.
